Stuart M. Butler, Ph.D., is apparently a very intelligent gentlemen, who, on 10/1/2007, wrote a thoughtful and very thorough article,
SCHIP Plus a Tax Credit: A Compromise Health Insurance Plan for Kids, for
The Heritage Foundation Leadership for America website.
As thoughtful as it was, something seemed to be missing, so I dropped him a line. You might consider doing the same, so he knows people are actually reading this stuff, and we know what it says!
Sir,
I would be able to consider your SCHIP recommendations realistic if you had addressed the issue of expanding coverage to 25 year old "children". This is a travesty, the president was right to veto it, and your leaving any mention of it out of your article, along with failing to mention the children of illegal's, was disingenuous and misleading. These issues are so conspicuous in their absence that it taints all of your other conclusions. It is hard to tell, under the circumstances, whether you are trying to help the hard working American citizens, or further push the democratic progressive socialist liberal agenda, at Americas expense.
